Programme and project evaluations
Our experience ranges from evaluations of specific projects to large-scale, multi-project and multi-stakeholder programmes. We have conducted evaluations across the diversity of the arts and cultural heritage sector, including outdoor arts events, artist showcases, exhibitions, heritage initiatives, archive and research projects, skills development, capital projects and
creative industry support schemes.
We are experienced in summative evaluation (that ‘looks back’ to assess the achievement of project or programme aims and objectives) as well as formative evaluation (that ‘looks forward’ and collects evidence to shape and improve project or programme delivery and to support strategic decision-making going forward).
We employ robust quantitative and qualitative research methods, including surveys, interviews, focus groups, participatory methods such as Most Significant Change, case study
research, secondary data analysis, and others. Our methodologies are designed for each individual evaluation to ensure that the data collected addresses our clients’ specific evaluation questions.
Some recent examples of our evaluation work include:
- Evaluation of ‘Glastonbury@50: Mapping and Visualising Festival Culture’ Project, for Victoria & Albert Museum (V&A)
- Evaluation of the Hi! Streets Fest, for Emergency Exit Arts/Historic England
- Evaluation of the Horizon Showcase, for Battersea Arts Centre
