Emrah Tokalaç
Emrah Tokalaç is a marketing and communications professional with 15 years of experience of working with arts and cultural organisations in the UK, specialising in audience development and brand strategy.
Following a five-year stint in advertising as account executive and copywriter, Emrah had a 13-year tenure at London's Kings Place, a music, arts & conference venue in King's Cross. During his time there, he led on the promotion and audience development of a wide array of festivals, including Kings Place-born initiatives (London Podcast, London A Cappella and London Piano festivals) and longstanding curatorial partners (e.g. Jewish Book Week, London Jazz Festival) as well as the venue's twice-award-winning year-long flagship series, Unwrapped, among many others. He also worked on the venue's audience development and rebranding strategy in line with its 10th-year anniversary. Emrah's most recent role was as Director of Audiences at Welsh National Opera where he, among other projects, oversaw the post-pandemic return of audiences, and devised the communications strategy in relation to the latest Art Council England funding announcement.
Emrah holds a PhD from University of Nottingham, with his dissertation exploring the solo song repertoire of Sibelius. He also has a BA in Management with major in Marketing, from Bosphorus University, Turkey
